Today Gemma spent time creating Easter fun with the residents, and her little bunny helpers came in and gave everyone a sweet treat 🍫

Everyone tucked into a beautiful lamb roast lunch, and had a wonderful Easter together 💛

Callum was out picking grapes from our greenhouse today 🍇

We spent the afternoon making lavender sachets from freshly cut and dried lavender 💜

The smell through the home was unreal.

A massive thank you to the Student Volunteer Army from Limehills school, who surprised us with a yummy donation of Rhubarb muffins yesterday 😍

Our residents loved eating these for afternoon tea, and it was even better that they were still warm and fresh from the oven 💛

Such an amazing bunch of kids doing amazing things for our community!

🌿 Meet the Team – Sophie (Our One-of-a-Kind Cook!) 🍰🎤

If you’ve ever walked past the kitchen and heard laughter… chances are Sophie is on shift 😄

Sophie has been part of the Rata Park family for 8 years, and what a huge part of the team she is. Not only does she keep everyone well-fed with her delicious home-style meals and baking, but she brings a whole lot of personality with her too.

She’s an absolute laugh, always up for a good time, and never one to miss a karaoke moment — she’s quick to head out and join in (or take lead) 🎤

And let’s not forget her iconic socks… bright, fun, and always a talking point. Honestly, they deserve their own fan club 🧦😂

Our residents adore her, our staff love her, and Rata Park just wouldn’t be the same without her.

We’re so lucky to have you, Sophie 💛

Did you make it down to the multicultural food festival? 🤩 We did!

The residents loved all the amazing food options and were blown away by the performances. Definitely a must do event if you didn’t make it this year 💛

💛 Today meant more than I can properly put into words 💛

I walked into work expecting just another day, and instead was met with so much kindness and effort from the people around me. Flowers, cake and the kind of effort you can’t fake. Not because they had to—but because that’s just who they are 🥹

We spent the afternoon doing simple, nostalgic birthday games—pass the parcel, a piñata, lots of laughs—and it ended up being one of those moments that reminds you what really matters 🥰

At Rata Park, it’s never just about the big things. It’s the small, thoughtful moments, the effort people make for each other, and the way everyone shows up with genuine care ☺️

I say often that we’re like a family here, and days like today are exactly why I believe that!

Feeling very grateful to be part of something like this 💙

Today a few of the residents and myself went out for a wee walk, enjoying the sunshine and warmth before winter creeps in ☀️

We are so lucky to have the Winton Walk Track. A beautiful nature walk, right at our back doorstep 🌲 🍁

💗 HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY FRANCIS 💗

What a special day for such a special human being! His morning started off with the whole home celebrating his birthday, cupcakes and all. Then a few of us joined him at his school for a birthday party. Good food, fond memories and lots of laughter was shared 🥰

In the afternoon Francis received gifts and a card from all his family here at Rata Park.

Francis is a true light in our lives. Always cheeky, up for a laugh and banter, and will give anything a go! Happy Birthday Francis, with lots of love from your family at Rata 💛

It started with a little karaoke before lunch…
Next thing you know there’s singing, dancing, and staff getting just as into it as the residents (one could argue, maybe even a little more) 😂🎤

Sometimes the wettest Sundays days turn into the most special ones 🌧️💛

Today, a couple of our team members brought their kids into Rata Park, and before long they had the residents joining them for a big art session and plenty of fun games. The laughter was contagious and the energy they brought into the home absolutely made everyone’s day 🤩

It’s moments like these that remind us how special it is when different generations come together. Thank you to our little visitors for brightening such a cold and rainy day! 🎨

What a beautiful Southland day to celebrate Nina’s Birthday (her 21st birthday if you ask her 😉)!

Nina is the life of the party, and always has something witty to say. We loved spending the day with you, celebrating and enjoying yummy ice cream birthday cake 💛
