Honouring the incredible Ruatau Perez, a true champion of Māori healing and well-being!

Ruatau's passion for sharing his indigenous knowledge shines through in everything he does. Guided by his Tūpuna, he has dedicated his life to teaching modern-day practices rooted in Māori philosophies. After spending ten years training under the esteemed Rongoā practitioner Papa Hohepa Delamere, Ruatau became a master in mirimiri, romiromi, Rongoā wairakau, and other Te Ao Māori approaches to healing.

As the Founder and Lead Practitioner of Te Arateatea Trust, Ruatau has been a guiding light for individuals and whānau, empowering them to access Rongoā Māori and traditional healing practices. Through his wānanga, both in Aotearoa and globally, he has shared invaluable knowledge, helping many embrace their cultural and spiritual practices to enhance their well-being.

Ruatau also plays an instrumental role in su***de prevention in Ōtautahi Christchurch through the Mauri Tau programme, supporting whānau on their healing journey with traditional wisdom and knowledge.

Ruatau, your unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of our people is an inspiration!
