FAQ: Are there ethical issues involving the stem cells used at your clinic?

Short answer? No.

At the Stem Cell Institute, all stem cells used are ethically sourced from donated human umbilical cord tissue. These donations come exclusively from healthy women after a normal, full-term birth in Panama, who voluntarily choose to participate in our donation program.

No embryonic or fetal cells are used at any stage of our process. The donated tissue we do receive is carefully screened, and all cells are processed in our ISO-certified, GMP-compliant lab, ensuring the highest standards of safety, ethics, and quality.

Both the Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Church have issued papers that encourage research and the use of adult stem cells, like the ones we use in the treatment of human disease, as an ethically acceptable alternative to the use of fetal and embryonic stem cells.
