Shamanism has been present in the lives of human beings as the most important ancient practice of all time and has been practiced throughout the world throughout human history.
Shamanism is the oldest physical and spiritual healing practice known to man. Each shaman has his own personal secrets that he jealously guards and are only passed down among his relatives from one generation to the next.
Amazonian medicinal plants or “teacher plants”, as they are known by healers or shamans, are for medicinal use and spiritual rituals. Ayahuasca and Tabaco, considered the mother and father of shamanism and are used in spiritual healing ceremonies.
Shamanism carries great responsibility and you must have the ability to transform what you have learned and experienced in the physical spiritual world for the benefit of healing. The ability to use wisdom and experience are very important in the spiritual realm for healing and transformation. On the physical plane, it is what distinguishes Amazonian shamans from other “spiritual travelers”.
The shamans of the Amazon are also great teachers, because they show that everything has a spirit and that everything is interconnected and alive, including the Earth itself. The shaman within the community demonstrates and maintains the harmonious balance between humanity, nature, and spirit.
Not all shamans with religious practices are part of an organized religion. Personally, I work in the name of God, because of my Catholic origin, but I do not consider shamanism a religion, because within shamanism there are no dogmas, sacred texts, or a single founder or leader. That is why the participants in my ceremonies can be believers, non-believers or agnostics. Personal faith should only be based on healing.
