From humble beginnings, Table Mama is taking it one step at a time. At one point in life Table Mama used to sell betel nut, smoke, soft drinks and food outside her home after not being able to get a decent job or school to carry on with life's journey. Her mother being the only one to support the family and her being the eldest, she always had the urge to help provide at home. Every morning she woke up very early to put up her table to catch the traffic of people passing by her house. Working class people who woke up very early to go to work and school children passing by the footpath stopped now and again to buy from her table. Every afternoon, the same. Some days are better than others. She had to juggle between house chores and marketing to help take care of her family. Some days she would stay up as late as 12PM to sell her betel nut. Through all her struggles in life, she experimented time and time again being a small based entrepreneur. Selling different things and seeing the demand. Understanding customer behavior, customer needs and wants, simple rules and values in trade adn the growing trend in Papua New Guinea. God was good and he worked open doors. Table Mama was given an opportunity to study abroad by her mother. Although she was a full time student, time and time again she felt this urge to buy and sell. The waiting and the reward that comes with it. The reward of being honest and satisfied with your goods and services and knowing your customers are happy too. The virtue of being honest with money. It was like therapy for her. Like a sport. A hobby. She enjoyed it. Meeting new people, getting to understand their life and their story, helping people by providing the best, communicating and delivering, trading...it had been something she had in her blood.
