Team Gulf Supports Murua Health Center and Murua Primary School
The 3L Staff Grants Recipient, Team Gulf, has successfully facilitated the donation of medical equipment to Murua Health Center, along with reading books and sporting balls to Murua Primary School, contributing to improved healthcare and educational resources in the community.
The Murua Health Center which serves a population of 5,000 is ideally centered around nine communities covering Siloura, Asipopo, Didimaua, Sori and Mamuro and has become a support center for Kerema Hospital providing relief assistance when the hospital is full.
Recently, the building was renovated and kitted with Solar panels but has remained closed due to no white goods like beds and medical equipment. The team saw the need and started their campaign to fully furbish center with necessary white goods and equipment.
The team donated two beds with mattresses, two cartons of masks, two cartons of gloves, a 5L sanitizer container, two blood pressure monitors, baby scale and digital weight scale, 40 clinic books for adults and children, three nebulizers with salbutamol packs, and a small machine for detecting diabetes.
A donation of 6 cartons of reading books with sporting balls for rugby, netball, soccer and basketball were also given to Murua Primary School.
"On behalf of Ward 29, Kerema Urban LLG, we sincerely thank Digicel and Digicel PNG Foundation for their generous donation which is the first of its kind to our village. We deeply appreciate the support from the Acting CEO, management, and staff, as well as the Gulf team for providing books, sports and medical equipment that will greatly benefit our school and health center," Ward Councilor, Mr Morgan Avosa said.
