A meaningful day of learning unfolded during the Hand in Hand Therapy Center Community Tour at the Abucay, Bataan Fire Station and Public Market, where our children were given the opportunity to explore, observe, and understand the people who help keep the community safe.
With sincere appreciation, we extend our gratitude to SFO1 Reynante O. Bavi, SFO1 Angelito Maria T. Bonifacio, FO3 Jae Arc L. Ramos, and FO1 Angelo I. Macaspac for warmly spearheading the visit and generously sharing their time, knowledge, and passion for service. It was a true honor for our learners to be welcomed as the first group of children to visit the Abucay Fire Station, making the experience even more memorable for our adorable and spectacular kids.
Community tours hold a powerful role in special education. They bridge the gap between classroom lessons and real-world experiences, allowing children to learn through observation, interaction, and meaningful engagement. For many of our learners, understanding their environment becomes clearer when they can see, touch, and experience it firsthand. Through this visit, our students not only discovered the important work of firefighters but also developed a deeper sense of awareness about community helpers, safety, and responsibility.
The session on fire prevention was especially enriching. The firefighters transformed important safety lessons into engaging moments through experiential learning and creative storytelling, making complex ideas easier for the children to grasp. Stories, demonstrations, interactive discussions, singing, and dancing allowed the children to visualize situations and connect safety practices to their everyday lives. In this way, learning moved beyond instruction, it became an experience that sparks understanding, curiosity, and confidence.
