SOCCSKSARGEN DATRC Holds DAPC 2025 Culmination Activity at Robinsons Place GenSan

SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC), under the leadership of DR. Imelda K. Quiñones, MAHA, DPCAM, FPSMSG, Chief of Hospital III, successfully held its Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week 2025 Culmination Activity on November 20, 2025, at the Atrium, Robinsons Place General Santos City. This year’s observance embraces the national theme: “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Kalusugan ay Pinapahalagahan, Droga ay Inaayawan.”

The event brought together guests from various offices and BADAC representatives from different barangays across SOCCSKSARGEN, highlighting the shared support for programs focused on drug abuse prevention, rehabilitation, and community-based interventions.

Valente G. Cariño, Assistant Regional Director (Director II) of PDEA XII, served as the event’s guest speaker. He delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation in sustaining drug-free and health-oriented communities. He also underscored the essential roles of local government units, barangay leaders, partner agencies, and the public in addressing drug-related challenges through strengthened collaboration and collective action.

Through this culmination activity for DAPC Week 2025, SOCCSKSARGEN DATRC reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness, strengthening partnerships, and empowering communities toward a safer, healthier, and drug-resistant SOCCSKSARGEN.

LOOK | The DOH SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) held a Ceremonial Oath-Taking for eight (8.) newly appointed and promoted employees on October 28, 2025, at Alabel, Sarangani Province.

The oath was administered by DR. IMELDA K. QUIÑONES, MAHA, DPCAM, FPSMSG, Chief of Hospital III of SOCCSKSARGEN DATRC.

Witnessed by section heads and staff, the ceremony celebrated the dedication and commitment of the employees as they take on their new roles within the organization.

The SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) successfully hosted a “Dialogue and Suppliers Forum” on October 13, 2025, bringing together key stakeholders to strengthen partnerships under the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program.

The event was attended by Sir Ibrahim S. Sangcupan, Regional Program Coordinator of DSWD-EPAHP, and Ms. Lorna S. Acanto, representative of the Department of Agrarian Reform – Sarangani, along with potential Community-Based Organization (CBO) representatives of SARBCO and BATODO.

This initiative aims to enhance convergence efforts and promote sustainable linkages between government agencies and local suppliers, particularly those from marginalized farming and fishing communities.

As part of its ongoing commitment to community empowerment, the SOCCSKSARGEN DATRC proudly supports the Community Participation Program, reinforcing its advocacy for economic, environmental, and social benefits through active support for local farmers and fisherfolk.

DRUG AWARENESS ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN!

SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program MALUNGON

October 07, 2025 , SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, with the leadership and direction of the Chief of Hospital III, Imelda K. Quiñones, MD, MAHA, DPCAM, FPSMSG and OIC- Chief Health Program Officer, Jasper B. Gumarang, M.D., aims to widen its information dissemination through advocacy campaigns on Drug Awareness to the youth sectors within the province. Joins with the representative of DSWD- Malungon, Municpal Link, Ms. Aizah S. Badio, RSW and Ms. Almira A. Sandek.

With this, we conducted a lecture discussion to the student of Banate National Highschool

The activity includes:
1. Overview of the SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center and its Services Offered by Vency M. Dayondon and Tessa Mae E. Sano
2. Ill Effects of Drugs by Medical Specialist II, Dr. Jasper B. Gumarang, and;
3. Mental Health Awareness: Understanding the Link Between Mental Health and Substance Use by Charmene Joy A. Lagos

The said activity aims to equip the youth sectors with concrete knowledge about illegal drugs, its effects and legal implication. The speakers of this activity underscores the importance of such knowledge in our fight against illegal drugs and challenge everyone to be the catalyst of change. They further elucidate that among the fallen victims of illegal drugs, majority of them are the youth who belongs to the poor sector.
