Don’t Let the Flood Bring Disease!

Be aware of LEPTOSPIROSIS — a serious infection from wading through floodwaters contaminated with animal urine. Protect yourself and your loved ones!

Know your risk:
• Low Risk: No wounds or entry of floodwater into eyes, ears, or mouth
• Moderate Risk: With wounds or water exposure to eyes/mouth/ears
• High Risk: Repeated exposure, swimming in floodwater, or drinking contaminated water

Doxycycline may help reduce the risk — but it’s NOT 100% effective.

NOT for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, or kids under 8 years old.

Always consult a doctor before taking any medication!

Stay safe this rainy season. Avoid floodwaters whenever possible.
