Most people don’t realize that cavities can actually spread from one person to another. While cavities themselves aren’t contagious, the bacteria responsible for them—especially Streptococcus mutans—can be transmitted through saliva. That means simple acts like kissing, sharing spoons or forks, or even blowing on a baby’s food can transfer these harmful bacteria from one mouth to another.

Once these bacteria colonize a new mouth, they begin to feed on sugars from food and produce acids that damage the tooth enamel, leading to cavities over time. This is especially important in young children, whose enamel is softer and more vulnerable. Parents, caregivers, and partners should be aware that oral hygiene affects not just themselves, but their loved ones too.

The best way to prevent this transmission is to maintain good oral hygiene, limit sugary foods, and avoid sharing utensils or toothbrushes. Regular dental checkups and cleanings also help reduce bacterial load and prevent decay. A healthy mouth is not only about brushing—it's about protecting those around you as well.

A patient asked me how much it cost to do tooth extraction.

𝗠𝗲: How much do you think it would cost you?

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: 500php maximum... Madali lang naman yon diba?! Saka mura lang mga gamit tapos antibiotic lang.😁

𝗠𝗲: Ok, since magkakilala naman tayo pwede namang ikaw ang gumawa. 😉

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: Pero hindi ko alam kung paano...😂

𝗠𝗲: For P500 tuturuan kita, nakasave ka pa ng P500 You'll get the knowledge na kailangan mo. 😉

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: Sige, pwede na din.😁

𝗠𝗲: But to get started: May mga kailangan tayong gamit:
‌dental chair (100k to 200k)
‌personal protective equipments (1000 to 2k)
‌medicaments(1k plus)
‌autoclave(25k to 35k)
‌set of dental forceps(25k plus)
‌gauze, q tips (250)
‌mouthwash(350)
‌etc.

𝗠𝗲: Sure, nasa akin naman na yung ibang gamit, but for the peri apical radiograph you need to have one and I will refer you to diagnostic center (500 to 700php)

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: X Ray Lang tapos ganun na agad price ? 😂

𝗠𝗲: Actually may ppe fee pa na 500 sa diagnostic center. ✌️

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: 500 sa turo, 500 sa rent ng stuff, ganun din, ikaw na pala gumawa.🙏

When you pay for a job, especially dental works, you pay not only for the material used, but also:

- Time to go
- punctuality
- Accountability
- Accuracy
- Guaranteed
- Sacrifices
- Safety and security

No one can denigrate other people's work by judging prices.
Only by knowing all the elements necessary for the production of a certain work can you estimate the actual cost.

Tunay na kaaya-ayang pagmasdan ang unang ngiti, unang tawa at paghikab ni baby.... kahit wala pa itong mga ngipin.

Ngunit alam niyo ba na dapat magsimula na ang oral hygiene ni baby kahit wala pang ngipin?

Ang mga gilagid ni baby ang siyang poprotekta sa mga ugat ng kanyang unang mga ngipin, kaya ito ay dapat linisin.
Kumuha ng malinis na tela o wash cloth o gasa. Basain ito at marahang linisin ang gilagid at dila ni baby pagkatapos niyang uminom ng gatas at bago matulog.

Sundin ang mga munting payo, para kalusugan ni baby laging panalo!
