The World Health Assembly has designated November 17, 2025 as the first official World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day, building on a global movement that began in 2020 to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem.

* **Global Strategy and Targets**
The observance calls for bold, united action to accelerate progress towards the 90-70-90 targets by 2030: 90% of girls vaccinated against HPV, 70% of women screened with high-performance tests, and 90% of women with cervical disease receiving treatment.

* **Global Participation and Initiatives**
Governments, youth, communities, and survivors are taking action to raise awareness, mobilize support, and inspire collective action towards cervical cancer elimination, with landmarks across regions being illuminated in teal to symbolize the global movement.
