RHU Bacolod: Charting Our Course for 2026!

We successfully concluded our 4th Quarter Staff Meeting today, led by the dedicated supervision of Dr. Teresa M. Reponte!

This crucial meeting served as a platform for strategic planning and collaboration, ensuring the continuous improvement of our health services. A major highlight was the detailed presentation of the 2026 Annual Program Plans Proposals by our esteemed Public Health Nurses (PHNs). We are excited to implement these programs aimed at further strengthening public health in our city!

In our commitment to equip our Barangay Health Stations (BHS) with the necessary tools, we are pleased to announce the provision of new pulse oximeters and sphygmomanometers for each BHS. This equipment will greatly enhance their capacity for patient assessment and monitoring at the community level.

Let's continue to work together for a healthier Bacolod!

🚨 DOH: ‘WAG GUMAMIT NG DOXYCYCLINE NANG WALANG RESETA🚨

Ang doxycycline ay isang antibiotic na ginagamit laban sa Leptospirosis.

Kapag mali ang pag-inom, pwedeng mawalan ito ng bisa laban sa mga mikrobyo at maging mas mahirap gamutin ang simpleng impeksyon. Pwede itong humantong sa matagal o mas matinding pagkakasakit.

Nakadepende ang pag-inom ng doxycycline sa exposure o risk level ng taong nalubog sa baha.

Payo ng DOH, magpatingin sa doktor para sa tamang reseta sa paggamit ng antibiotic na ito.

Why are these drills so important?

Safety First: Regular drills ensure every staff member knows the proper evacuation routes and emergency procedures to keep themselves and our patients safe.

Quick Response: Practicing minimizes panic, allowing for faster and more organized response times during a real emergency.

Compliance: It ensures our facility meets safety standards, protecting our community's health infrastructure.

RHU Bacolod Holds Productive BHW Meeting and Planning Session

November 5, 2025- The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, successfully conducted a crucial Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Meeting today at the Municipal Gymnasium!

This assembly served as an important platform for knowledge sharing and appreciation. Key topics covered during the meeting included:

• Review of Reportable Cases: BHWs were reminded of the critical need for prompt reporting, especially for diseases like Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD), to ensure immediate public health action.
• Purok Kalusugan Orientation: The Department of Health (DOH) Human Resources for Health (HRH) team provided an insightful orientation on the Purok Kalusugan program, emphasizing community-level health promotion.
• Toxicology Education: Our dedicated Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Teresa M. Reponte, shared vital information on toxicology, specifically discussing the prevention and immediate management protocols for incidents like jellyfish poisoning.
• BHW Incentive Program: Discussions were also held regarding the BHW incentive program for those nearing retirement, recognizing their dedicated years of service to the community.
• Upcoming Christmas Party: Exciting initial plans were shared for the BHW Christmas Party, a time to celebrate their hard work and commitment!

🌟 Mission Accomplished! 🌟

The dedicated staff of Rural Health Unit Bacolod led by Dr. Teresa M Reponte - Municipal Health officer, have successfully completed a comprehensive 5-day training on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Standard First Aid (SFA) held on October 20-24, 2025.

This essential training was conducted by the Department of Health (DOH) Region 10 in partnership with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO). We are now better equipped than ever to serve our community during emergencies.

Maraming salamat sa DOH R-10 and PDRRMO sa patuloy na suporta at pagsasanay!
