This is an inguinal hernia (luslos) with intestine bulging through a weak area in the abdominal wall.
The resulting bulge can cause pain in the inguinal or groin area especially when lifting heavy object, bending over or coughing.

This patient underwent inguinal herniorrhaphy with hernioplasty - a procedure that repairs the inguinal defect with stitches and reinforcement of the weak abdominal wall with a synthetic mesh.

This is an EPIDERMAL INCLUSION CYST.

🤓causes

🤓signs and symptoms
📌 Epidermal inclusion cysts are one of the most common benign lesions [doc Z: non-cancerous] of the skin.
- They usually present as a slow growing cutaneous mass with a keratin-plugged punctum (bump on the skin).
- They occur anywhere on the skin, but are most common on the face, neck and trunk.
- They rarely cause problem but has a high risk of infection especially when manipulated and intentionally ruptured or squeezed.

🤓treatment
- For complete resolution of the cyst, the cyst needs to be surgically removed.
- ‼️ If the cyst becomes infected (red, swollen, painful and increase in size) consult your surgeon or dermatologist for evaluation and management. Treatment of an infected epidermal inclusion cyst typically include antibiotics and drainage.
