Causes of decreased body resistance
When the resistance is weakened, the immune system will become fragile and weak, increasing the risk of dangerous infectious diseases, especially Covid-19. Recent studies indicate that factors that decrease resistance include:
Immune system deficiency: this is the main cause of resistance decline, including primary immunodeficiency (genetic defects, germ cell disorders, ...) and secondary immunodeficiency ( due to X-ray radiation, cytostatic treatment, trauma, surgical intervention, ...).
Air pollution: when breathing dust, chemical vapors, etc., your lungs will be polluted. Studies have found that dirty air prevents the proliferation of T lymphocytes (essential cells of the immune system) and B lymphocytes (humoral immunity) that cause respiratory infections.
Eat processed foods: If you eat too much fast food, canned food, etc., have too much sugar, fat and salt that are harmful to the body – these foods will weaken the T and B lymphocytes that are "teams of blood" army" is the main force against disease.
Drink less water: Water plays an important role in the human body. In addition to providing water for life, they also help the kidneys filter out toxic elements and improve resistance.
Staying up too late: If you don't get enough rest, especially when you stay up late, your body doesn't produce enough melatonin during sleep, your immune system can't make enough white blood cells to fight off bacteria.
Stress: Regular stress and anxiety cause hormone levels such as testosterone and estrogen to decrease, causing imbalance, and weakening the body's immunity.
Overuse of antibiotics: Antibiotics are a "double-edged sword". According to experts, children and adults who are ill when taking antibiotics will recover very quickly, but make the patient's body weaker, more likely to get sick in the future, reduce the ability to resist bacteria, virus. In addition, antibiotics also lead to a decrease in the amount of cytokines – a hormone necessary for the immune system.
Being overweight: Being overweight not only makes it difficult for the heart and brain, but also causes the hormone secretion to go out of control, which destroys the immune system's ability to prevent disease (2).
