Hello everyone!

I rarely rant about anything because I believe that all patients and people should be treated with respect.

But it is upsetting to see messages like this from people who want everything “libre” and who have a notion na pera pera lang ang gusto namin.

To be perfectly honest, my consultation is not free. My follow ups are free and if I give you free consult it is because I want to. But do not expect that all my consultations are free especially from a private page/sector. Wag po kayong entitled or demanding. 🤗

If you have consultations with me, I will make sure to answer all your questions as much as I can and explain your symptoms in details. I make voice recordings if needed or requested for patients which is included na po sa consultation.

Hindi lang po ito pera-pera. I do it with heart and passion. Please check the REVIEWS of the page if you think that it is all about money.❤️

There are ways to get free consultations. They may be harder to get and the wait may be longer, but at least they are free.

We as Doctors have really worked hard to get our license. We paid a lot for our tuition fee as well (4 years pre med, 5 years med school, 3-5 years specialization etc). We have the right to choose our patients and give them discounts as well if we want to. But do not dictate on us. Do not demand especially if hindi ko po kayo kilala.

Wag niyo pong mamasamain if hindi namin mabigay sa inyo ng libre ang Konsulta namin.

We have bills to pay, mouths to feed and ito po ang source of income namin.

Let us be more kind, considerate and respectful. Lahat po tayo may mga pinagdadaanan even when it does not show.❤️🙏

QUESTION: “Doc Dea ano po ba ang Oresol?”

Oresol is a Medication given to replace Water or Electrolyte Loss.

Binibigay ito sa patients na may LBM, Vomiting, Diarrhea or High Fever para maiwasan ang Dehydration or Electrolyte Imbalance.

Here’s how to make DIY Oresol at home according to the DOH / Department of Health
1 Liter of Water
1 Teaspoon of Salt
4 Teaspoons of Sugar

Mix together and take frequent sips as tolerated.

Diarrhea Outbreak sa Baguio? 😷

Ang tawag dito ay Acute Gastroenteritis or AGE 🤢

Most common symptoms are-
1. Abdominal Pain/Bloating
2. LBM/ Pagtatae
3. Fever 🥵
4. Vomiting / Weakness

Anyone can be affected pero mas malala ang symptoms ng mga bata, matanda at mga mahina ang immune system

Ano ang mga Pwedeng Gawin?
1. Only drink SAFE sources of clean, drinking water.

2. Pag may early signs of AGE, increase fluid intake para maiwasan ang dehydration (Lalo na sa Kids). You can also take oresol.

3. A stool exam and a CBC will help kung malala ang symptoms. Ito din ang basis ng Doctors para mag-simula ng antibiotics-only IF needed.

4. Probiotics are the good bacteria of our tummy. They can help improve LBM symptoms and make diarrhea go away faster.

5. For severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or kung sobrang tigas ng tyan, best to seek ER consult. Baka hindi lang ito AGE but appendicitis, cholecystitis or a surgical emergency.

6. Finally, make sure to always WASH your Hands before and after meals and using the toilet. This drastically helps the spread of infection. 👏

Question: "Doc, nakaka-seizure po ba ang vaccines sa kids? Natatakot po kasi ako na ipa-vaccine anak ko."

Answer: Vaccines are relatively safe and effective for preventing illness. Most common side effects include fever, body pains or swelling over the injection site. Kung mataas po ang lagnat ng anak ninyo after vaccination, it can cause febrile seizures but this is very RARE.

Pagkatapos ng vaccine, pwede po mag take ng paracetamol syrup and anak ninyo to prevent pain and fever. Apply cold compress over the injection site. Watch out for fever, rashes, difficulty of breathing.

Kadalasan, very MINOR side effects lang po ang vaccines natin. Their benefits definitely outweigh the side effects.

I would still suggest essential vaccinations for kids, seniors and adults. ^_^

While going over the letters and papers that accumulated over the years, I stumbled across this one from a Highschool batchmate of mine. ^_^

Nakakatuwa lang pong isipin na may nakaka-appreciate pala sa medical help and advice na binibigay namin.

Minsan, hindi po talaga madaling maging Doctor. Maraming time, expenses at puyat sa duty ang kailangan para maging expert sa medical field. Marami kaming namimiss out na occasions at minsan, we cannot be there for out family when they need it the most.

But notes and gifts like this make us remember why we took this profession- or should I say calling in the first place. We are here because we have been called heal and humbled to serve.

As much as possible we do our best to extend our medical knowledge to help treat our patients. May mga times we fail. We doubt ourselves pag hindi responsive ang patient sa treatment pero we try again and we dedicate our practice to help our patients.

So maraming salamat po for these gifts and the letter. Sobra pong nakaka-taba ng puso. ☺️❤️

"Doc paano magpapayat?" 🥺

Answer:
This is a very broad topic and really differs from case to case. Pero here are some tips you can try to search about:

1. Calorie counting. Ang calories na need natin ay about 1,800-2,000 calories daily. Kung gusto ninyong mag loose weight, bawasan ang daily calories na kinakain ninyo.

2. Exercise! Tried and tested na po ito. It burns fat, boosts metabolism and promotes health. May iba ibang types of exercise na pwede ninyong gawin. Again it is best to seek consult with a fitness expert for the type of workout na kailangan ninyo. :)

3. Intermittent fasting. May studies that show how Intermittent fasting helps boost our metabolism. On the other hand, some nutritionists believe that it can cause more harm than good to the body. Personally, I usually do not eat breakfast. Hindi naman dahil nagfafasting talaga ako, pero dahil ito na ung sanay ng katawan ko ever since med school. Again, consult your Doctor or Nutritionist before doing this. ☺️

4. Decrease carbohydrate intake. This means, bawas tayo sa rice, bread, pasta, biscuits and noodles. You can look for rice substitutes like shirataki rice, cauliflower rice or mag red rice nalang :).

Of course, no diet is perfect and all diets should be done carefully especially kung may sakit or maintenance na po kayo. If hindi po sigurado, best parin po magpaconsulta sa Doctor 😊

P.S. wag po kayo maniwala sa slimming pills or radical and drastic changes sa weight. These are dangerous and can cause heart and liver problems. Wag niyo na po i-risk. It is still best to eat healthy and have an exercise routine.

Wag magpaka-stress! 🤣

Pero, I do know that stress is universal. We all get stressed in school, at home, at work and we can get stressed even alone. Soooo, here are some practical tips to "Anti-Aging" ❤️

1. Drink enough water. 2-3 Liters po ang kailangan natin everyday (unless nalang may kidney problems kayo). This maintains good skin elasticity and helps our major organs to function well.

2. SPF 30-50 will help prevent aging from sun exposure. Look for a sunscreen that works well for your skin type.

3. Exercise 3-4x weekly. Studies have shown that exercise helps the production of endorphins- which are our happy hormones. Kaya pagkatapos ng exercise, kahit pagod, fulfilled tayo!

4. Eat a balanced diet. Wag puro samgyup nalang! Iwas sa 3 in 1 coffee at iba pang processed food and canned goods. Nothing beats a healthy home-cooked meal 🍲

5. Pray. Meditate. Smile more and just enjoy life! A positive balanced outlook in life regardless of stress and problems will promotes inner peace and well being. ☺️ This doesnt mean you shouldn't feel sad, angry or stressed. Valid ang feelings mo but do not let it consume you. Learn from it, heal from the pain and use it to grow stronger. (Naku nagdrama na si Doc Dea 🤣🙈)

Wala pong perfect na anti-aging secret. At the end of the day, we all will grow old and fade away. Pero ang mahalaga, we live life with no regrets and we live it fully!

Let us be thankful for every situation and grow from trouble and hardship. 🥰

Hindi madaling gawin, but by God's grace, we will one day overcome. ❤️

This cute little patient of mine was having chronic cough and respiratory symptoms. After a few days, he updated me with such a sweet video. 🥰

At the end of the day, as Doctors we are so limited but God is our greatest Healer. 👆❤️
