A 2020 study published in the ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฒ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ found that those individuals who have a greater sense of purpose in life have lower likelihood of abusing drugs after ten years than those with lower sense of purpose.
Another study, further, found that increasing levels of purpose predicted better treatment outcomes for those who were drug-dependent, suggesting that purpose in life may be considered in the treatment of drug-dependent patients.
