𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵-𝗟𝗲𝗱, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮-𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀!

Bataan St. Joseph Hospital & Medical Center Corp., in partnership with the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, the Bataan Medical Society, Lakan-Balanga, and the Balanga City Health Office — City Health Center V, commemorated World AIDS Day on December 12, 2025, with the program “Youth-Led, Community-Powered, Stigma-Free Philippines” at the Covered Court of Barangay Dangcol, Balanga City, Bataan.

The program began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Angel Aquino - BSJHMC Medical Ditector, who then led a candle lighting ceremony with Dr. Roland Benedict Reyes. Following the ceremony, Ms. Clarel Jane Corpuz, BSJHMC ICN, provided a historical overview of World AIDS Day and the local fight against HIV. Students from Bataan National High School recited a statement of support while lighting their candles, and Ms. Catherine O. Banaban, Teacher II of BNHS, led the opening prayer. Attendees were guided in making a pledge to foster a stigma-free environment for people living with HIV, led by Ms. Hennesse Canare - Olegario, Lead Program Coordinator of Balanga City Health Office.

Dr. Roland Benedict Reyes - Infectious Disease Specialist, then delivered a comprehensive lecture on HIV and AIDS that covered prevention, testing, treatment, and destigmatization, followed by a question-and-answer session. Lakan-Balanga provided free on-site HIV screening, ensuring immediate access to testing alongside the event’s educational and symbolic activities. Dr. Jose Christopher Custodio hosted the event

The World AIDS Day event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of community collaboration and youth engagement in the fight against HIV/AIDS. By uniting various organizations, healthcare professionals, and local youth, the program not only raised awareness but also fostered a supportive atmosphere for those affected by HIV/AIDS. The participation of students from Bataan National High School exemplified the significant role of the younger generation in advocating for a youth-led, community-powered and stigma-free society.

The Teen Information Center (TIC) recognition, awarded on December 12, 2025, at the Tourism Bataan Pavilion, highlights the collaborative efforts between community leaders and health organizations. Representing their barangay with pride were SK Chairperson Rovic Santos and SK Secretary Ayen Rose Espiritu, who received this commendation symbolizing the collective efforts of our youth leaders in promoting health education and support.

The success of SK Wakas South is also a reflection of Bataan St. Joseph Hospital’s commitment as their official partner. Together, we share a vision of nurturing knowledge, providing resources, and creating opportunities for our young people. This partnership has been thr key in ensuring that the youth of Wakas South receive the guidance and support they need to thrive and contribute positively to society.

Bataan St. Joseph Hospital staff attended the Misa de Aguinaldo at 4:00 AM on December 16, 2025, officiated by Bishop Rufino Sescon Jr. Representatives from both clinical and support teams gathered to pray, offer thanks for the past year, and petition for blessings upon our patients and healthcare workers in the year ahead. Following the service, staff shared a modest breakfast at Plaza Brew Coffee & Company.

Bataan St. Joseph Hospital & Medical Center Corp. celebrated a significant event on December 9, 2025, with the blessing of its newly renovated Emergency Room. Hospital staff, administrators, and parishioners came together for a heartfelt Thanksgiving Mass, led by Bishop Rufino C. Sescon Jr. During the service, he offered prayers for wisdom, patience, and compassion for the physicians, nurses, and staff who will provide care to patients in the new facility.

The formal blessing consecrated the ER as a place of refuge and dignified care, affirming the hospital’s commitment to both technical readiness and compassionate service. After the ceremony, attendees shared a simple simple banquet, celebrating unity and gratitude while reaffirming their dedication to patient-centered care.

Endorsed by spiritual and community support, the renovated Emergency Room opens as a renewed promise to serve the people of Bataan with excellence, compassion, and respect.
