Working Together for a Healthy Workplace in LGU Balasan.🫶🫶🫶

Provincial Health Office Program Coordinators, Ma’am Maeden Quiñon and team, conducted an onsite visit on March 11, 2026 at the Mayor’s Office for the institutionalization of Healthy Workplace Policies and community-based health initiatives.

The activity was conducted through direct engagement with the local government and was actively participated in by the SB Committee Chair on Health, Hon. Eden Dequilla, HRMO Ma’am Jen I. Guzman, Nurse Ma’am Zarah Hermogenes (HEPO Designate), and representatives from different municipal offices.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and support the implementation of health programs that promote a healthy and productive workplace and community.

The First Local Health Board Meeting was conducted earlier and was headed by Hon. Filomeno V. Ganzon, Municipal Mayor and Chairman of the Local Health Board, together with Dr. Feman Rene M. Autajay, Medical Specialist IV of the Iloilo Provincial DOH Office; Hon. Eden Borbon, SB Committee on Health; a representative from the MLGOO; and PCF personnel.

The meeting highlighted PuroKalusugan, an initiative of the Department of Health that aims to enhance primary health care services and bring these services directly to underserved and unserved Filipinos. It focuses on eight (8) Priority Health Outcomes: Immunization, Nutrition, Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Maternal Health, HIV and Tuberculosis, Non-Communicable Diseases, and Cancer Prevention.

Other matters discussed included dental concerns, PhilHealth claims, the Health System Resilience Project, and the Doctor to the Barrio proposal.

We sincerely thank International Care Ministries (ICM) for the free Chest X-ray services provided to eligible residents of Brgy. Tingui-an and nearby barangays.

Balasan Primary Care Facility personnel also offered fluoride application for school-aged children, VIA screening, PhilPen Risk Assessment, PhilHealth services, medical consultations, and free medicines—bringing much-needed healthcare closer to our people.

Our heartfelt gratitude also to the Barangay officials and appointees, especially our dedicated Barangay Health Workers, for their invaluable support and tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth implementation and success of this activity.

Through strong partnerships and community cooperation, we continue to bring quality healthcare closer to our people. 💙

Our heartfelt gratitude to International Care Ministries for providing free chest X-ray services to our community people aged 15 years old and above—a big help in promoting better health for everyone.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the Barangay Officials, appointees and Barangay Health Workers of Brgy. Mamhut Norte for the warm accommodation and the sumptuous food that made everyone feel truly welcome.
