Huwag ipagsawalang-bahala dahil ang rabies ay nakamamatay pero 100% maiwasan!

💧 1. Hugasan agad ang sugat gamit ang sabon at umaagos na tubig sa loob ng 10–15 minuto.
🧴 2. Maglagay ng antiseptic tulad ng povidone-iodine o alcohol.
🏥 3. Kumonsulta agad sa pinakamalapit na Animal Bite Center.

Ang ERIG (Equine Rabies Immunoglobulin) at HRIG (Human Rabies Immunoglobulin) ay napakahalaga lalo na sa Category III bites — tulad ng malalalim na kagat, multiple wounds, o kagat sa ulo, mukha, at kamay.

✅ Agarang Panangga sa Rabies – Instant protection habang hinihintay pa ang bisa ng anti-rabies vaccine.
✅ Neutralizer ng Virus sa Sugat – Diretso iniinject sa paligid ng sugat para patayin ang rabies virus.
✅ Para sa Mga High-Risk Bites – Hindi sapat ang bakuna lang; kailangan ng kombinasyon ng vaccine + ERIG/HRIG para maging 100% protektado.

Rabies ay 100% nakamamatay kapag lumabas na ang sintomas. Kaya’t mahalagang maagapan agad.

Bakit sila mahalaga?
1. Agarang proteksyon – Gumagana agad habang hinihintay pa ng katawan ang bisa ng anti-rabies vaccine.
2. Neutralizer – Pinapatay nila ang virus na maaaring nasa sugat o paligid nito.
3. Pang-severe bites (Category III) – Para sa malalim na kagat, sugat sa ulo, leeg, kamay, o kung bata ang nakagat.
4. Mas mataas ang survival rate – Kapag may ERIG/HRIG + bakuna, halos zero ang tsansa na magkaroon ng rabies.

Tandaan
• Bakuna lang ay hindi sapat para sa Category III bites.
• Bakuna + ERIG/HRIG = Kumpletong proteksyon laban sa rabies.
