🚑 Strengthening Nursing Response to Acute Poisoning 🌿💉

The MIMAROPA Center for Health Development, in collaboration with the Batangas Medical Center Toxicology Specialty Center, successfully conducted the Orientation on Nursing Care Management of Acute Poisoning in various health facilities across Marinduque last November 3–7, 2025.

Our dedicated BatMC Toxicology Nurses shared their expertise, empowering frontline healthcare workers with vital skills in managing poisoning cases and ensuring safer, healthier communities.

The Batangas Medical Center – Toxicology Specialty Center successfully conducted a vital lecture entitled:

🩺 “Management of Acute Poisoning” 📍 Provincial Health Conference Room 📅 October 14, 2025

This learning session enhanced the knowledge of medical residents, nurses, and allied health professionals in handling acute poisoning cases. The BatMC–Toxicology Specialty Center brought the science straight to the students in a high-impact school-based lecture led by our dynamic nurse toxicologists!

From chemical exposures to career explorations, our Senior High School learners dove into the world of toxicology with curiosity, energy, and purpose.

Hosted by the Supreme Student Government of Golden Gate Colleges, Senior High School Department last October 9, seminar sparked real conversations on public health, environmental risks, and the vital role of toxicologists in keeping communities safe.

The Toxicology Center staffs were grateful for the opportunity to serve as resource speakers for the orientations on Occupational Safety and Health in Health Facilities in Marinduque province. Organized by the DOH MIMAROPA Center for Health Development in collaboration with the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau and the Toxicology Specialty Center dated last September 29-October 3, 2025.

It was an honor to share our knowledge that supports our healthcare workers in creating safer workplaces and strengthening their capacity to protect lives. 💙👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

🌋 Volcanic Smog Advisory – Batangas, October 2025

PHIVOLCS has issued a precautionary advisory for Taal Volcano in Batangas following a minor phreatomagmatic eruption recorded on October 1, 2025, at 2:02 AM. The eruption produced a 2,500-meter-high plume drifting northwest from the main crater.

⚠️ Volcanic Smog Advisory – Stay Safe, Stay Informed! ⚠️ Taal Volcano’s recent activity may lead to volcanic smog (vog) affecting nearby areas. Vog can irritate the eyes, throat, and lungs—especially for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.

🛡️ Precautionary Tips: ✅ Stay indoors when possible ✅ Use N95 masks outdoors ✅ Keep windows and doors closed ✅ Seek medical help if symptoms worsen
