🦠 Rabies doesn’t always show symptoms immediately.

Maraming tao ang nag-aakalang kung walang nararamdamang kakaiba pagkatapos makagat o makalmot ng hayop, ay ligtas na sila.

Ngunit sa rabies, maaaring tumagal ng ilang linggo o kahit buwan bago lumabas ang sintomas.

Habang wala pang sintomas, ang rabies virus ay maaaring unti-unting kumikilos sa katawan, papunta sa nervous system.

⚠️ Kapag nagsimula na ang mga sintomas tulad ng:
• lagnat
• pananakit ng ulo
• hirap lumunok
• takot sa tubig (hydrophobia)
ang rabies ay kadalasang hindi na magagamot.

💉 Ang pinakamabisang proteksyon ay maagang pagpapagamot pagkatapos ng kagat o kalmot ng hayop.

Huwag maghintay ng sintomas.

Maraming naniniwala na kapag walang dumugong sugat, ligtas na.
Pero ito ang katotohanan 👇

✅ FACT: Kahit walang dugo, puwedeng makapasok ang rabies virus.

Ang rabies virus ay nasa laway ng infected na hayop at maaaring makapasok sa katawan sa pamamagitan ng:

• Maliit na kagat
• Kalmut na halos hindi pansin
• Gasgas o sugat sa balat

🦠 Hindi kailangan na malalim o dumudugo ang sugat para magkaroon ng panganib.

⚠️ Kapag nagkaroon na ng sintomas ang rabies, ito ay 100% fatal.
Pero 100% preventable ito kung maagapan ng tamang bakuna at gamutan.

💉 Huwag maghintay. Kahit mukhang “okay lang."

RIG stands for Rabies Immune Globulin.

It is not a vaccine itself, but a life-saving serum containing ready-made antibodies that provide "passive immunity".

While a rabies vaccine "teaches" your body to make its own antibodies (which takes about 7–14 days), RIG provides an immediate shield to neutralize the virus at the wound site during that critical first week.

Key Features of RIG

PURPOSE: It acts as a "bridge" to protect you until the vaccine series kicks in.

ADMINISTRATION: Ideally, as much of the dose as possible is infiltrated directly into and around the bite wound to kill any virus present at the point of entry.

TIMING: It is usually given on the same day as your first vaccine dose (Day 0). It can be given up to 7 days after the first vaccine, but not after, as your body should be producing its own antibodies by then.
