EDSA People Power Anniversary

𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐀 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘

Today we commemorate the anniversary of the historic People Power Revolution — a powerful witness to unity, courage, and peaceful change.

In February 1986, along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, millions of Filipinos gathered in prayer and solidarity, standing for truth, justice, and freedom. Armed not with violence but with faith and hope, the people showed the world the strength of peaceful action rooted in moral conviction.

This anniversary invites us to remember that authentic change begins in the heart — through integrity, responsibility, and love of country. It challenges each of us to continue building a society grounded in truth, compassion, and respect for human dignity.

May we never forget the lessons of EDSA: that prayer is powerful, unity is transformative, and freedom carries both privilege and responsibility.

Let us pray for our nation, for our leaders, and for every citizen — that we may always seek what is just, work for peace, and walk in solidarity with one another.

ASH WEDNESDAY

𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐖𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘

Today we begin the sacred season of Lent with the observance of Ash Wednesday — a day of prayer, fasting, and repentance.

As ashes are placed upon our foreheads, we hear the solemn reminder:
“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
Or, “Repent, and believe in the Gospel.”

Ashes are not a sign of despair, but of hope. They mark the beginning of a journey — a journey back to the heart of God. Lent invites us to deeper prayer, generous charity, and sincere sacrifice so that our hearts may be renewed in Christ.

Through fasting, we learn discipline.
Through prayer, we grow closer to the Lord.
Through almsgiving, we reflect His mercy.

May this holy season be a time of grace and spiritual renewal for us all. Let us walk these forty days with humility, trusting in God’s boundless love and mercy.
