March 9, 2026 || With the strong support of City Leadership Team Chairman and Mayor Angelo B. Alonte, MPA, the Mayor’s Office was represented by City Community Affairs Officer Mr. Darwin Almarines, MPA. The City Population Office conducted the “Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Symposium, Film Dissemination, and STI/HIV/AIDS Awareness” at Biñan Integrated National High School (BINHS).
The initiative was a collaborative effort among the City Population Office, led by Concurrent Acting City Population Officer Ms. Jen B. Sarmiento, MPsy; DepEd–Biñan City, under Dr. Arlene S. Ricasata, CESO VI; and BINHS, headed by Ms. Julie Ann D. Natividad, Ed.D., Principal IV.
The program aimed to equip students with essential knowledge on adolescent reproductive health, STI and HIV/AIDS prevention, and the risks of teenage pregnancy through informative film presentations and expert discussions. It encouraged the youth to make informed and responsible decisions regarding their health and future.
Special thanks were extended to Ms. Mary Zhardane Fajardo (Guidance Advocate), Ms. Corazon S. De Silva (BINHS Health Coordinator), Ms. Karmelli Mae Oriarte, RN (TEENDIG Nurse), and Peer Educators from the Student Health Emergency Response Team (SHERT) for their valuable contributions and support in advancing adolescent health education in the City of Biñan.
