Six years ago, you survived the pandemic. I know you can do it now too. (A reflection)
For many of us, the memory of those days still lingersโthe uncertainty, the silence of empty streets, the fear of sickness, and the longing to simply return to normal life. Yet by the grace of God, we endured. We prayed in our homes, attended Mass online, and held on to hope even when the future seemed unclear. Looking back now, we realize that it was not only our strength that carried us through, but Godโs faithful presence.
Today, the pandemic you might have is no longer a virus spreading across the world. Instead, it may be the quiet battles within your own lifeโyour struggles, your fear of the unknown, your disappointments, or the weight of failure. These invisible pandemics can feel just as overwhelming. They isolate us like that of the social distancing, make us doubt ourselves, and sometimes even make us question where God is in the middle of our suffering.
But the same God who walked with us during the global pandemic continues to walk with us today. He never abandoned us then, and He will not abandon us now. In the Gospels, Jesus often reminds His disciples, "Do not be afraid.โ Those words were not spoken only for their timeโthey are meant for us today.
Every struggle we face can become an opportunity to trust God more deeply. Just as the world slowly healed from the pandemic, our hearts can also find healing through faith. When life feels uncertain, we remember that God is already present in our tomorrow. When we fall, He gives us the grace to rise again. When fear surrounds us, He reminds us that hope is stronger.
The pandemic taught us many lessons: the value of prayer, the importance of community, and the truth that life is fragile yet deeply precious. Most importantly, it showed us that even in the darkest times, Godโs light never fades.
So if you survived the storms of the past, trust that God will guide you through the struggles of today. The challenges you face now are not the end of your story. With faith, perseverance, and trust in the Lord, you can move forward once again.
Because the same God who carried you six years ago is still carrying you today. ๐
