Building healthier communities starts with informed leaders.

During today’s STI Orientation for Barangay Leaders of Mangagoy Health Zone (Barangay Mangagoy, Comawas, San Isidro, Mone and Burboanan) at Bonsay Riverview Inn, Poblacion, Bislig City, I discussed Common Sexually Transmitted Infections: Protecting Adolescents at the Community Level, highlighting how early recognition, timely referral, and supportive environments can make all the difference.

I am grateful to our barangay officials for their engagement and dedication to safeguarding the health of our young people.

Together, we strengthen community-based protection.

Empowering the youth with knowledge that protects.

Today, at the STI Symposium for Adolescents of Tabon Maximino Estrella National High School, held at Bonsay Riverview Inn, Poblacion, Bislig City, I had the opportunity to discuss STI Screening in Special Adolescent Populations, a topic that highlights the unique challenges and needs of our adolescents.

Together, we build a healthier, more informed generation.

I’m truly grateful to be part of the 2025 mhGAP Training spearheaded by PhilHealth, in collaboration with CHD Caraga and PHO Surigao del Sur, held last October 27–31, 2025 at Shacene Restobar, Mabua, Tandag City.

The training gathered participants from all the cities and municipalities of Surigao del Sur, united in strengthening our capacity to provide quality mental health services at the primary care level.

A huge shoutout to our amazing speakers from the National Center for Mental Health, Dr. Bridget Nancy A. Coote and Dr. Nicole Marie B. Manalastas, as well as Dr. Alvin Jay Labella and Ma’am Maryfe N. Rosales. Thank you for sharing your expertise and energy with us!

And of course, to Team Cambodia. Ma’am Gladys, Doc Imee, Doc Krizel, Doc Dene, Ma’am Melodina, Ma’am Arlyn, and Ma’am April, Susadei! 🇰🇭 Meow! 🐱 I’m lucky to have been part of such a chill yet competitive group who made the learning experience even more enjoyable.
