Nagising ka ba na p**a ang iyong mata? Huwag agad isipin na "sore eyes" lang 'yan. 👁️🚨

Ang pamumula ng mga mata ay karaniwang sintomas, ngunit gaya ng ipinapakita sa infographic na ito, hindi laging simple ang dahilan. Bagama't maaaring ito ay nakakahawang conjunctivitis ("sore eyes"), pwede rin itong dahil sa allergies, panunuyo (dryness), iritasyon, o iba pang mga nakatagong kondisyon.

Dahil iba-iba ang mga sanhi, dapat ay tiyak din ang gamutan. Ang pagse-self-medicate nang walang gabay ng doktor, paggamit ng mga mapanganib na "home remedies" gaya ng pagpatak ng gatas ng ina sa mata, o pag-asa sa mga hindi napatunayang "cure-all" drops na hindi aprubado ng FDA ay maaaring makapagpaantala ng tamang lunas at posibleng magpalala pa ng iyong kondisyon o makapinsala sa iyong paningin.

Huwag isugal ang iyong paningin. Kung ikaw ay may nananatiling pamumula, pananakit, o pagbabago sa paningin, humingi agad ng propesyonal na tulong.

ISANG PAMPUBLIKONG PAALALA MULA SA PHILIPPINE ACADEMY OF OPHTHALMOLOGY:
Mag-ingat sa mga hindi napatunayang gamot sa mata, eye drops, at mga aparato sa mata na inilalako bilang lunas-sa-lahat (cure-all) o pang-iwas sa iba't ibang kondisyon ng mata. Kumunsulta sa iyong ophthalmologist para sa tamang pangangalaga ng iyong mga mata.

Nagiging maulap o malabo na ba ang iyong paningin? 👀💨

Ang katarata ay dahan-dahang nabubuo, kaya mahalagang malaman ang mga maagang sintomas nito upang mapangalagaan ang iyong mga mata. Ayon sa ating infographic, narito ang mga dapat bantayan:

• Malabong paningin.
• Nahihirapang makakita sa gabi.
• Pagiging sensitibo sa sobrang liwanag o "glare".
• Kailangang mas maliwanag na ilaw kapag nagbabasa.
• Tila kumukupas o naninilaw na mga kulay.
• Double vision o nagdodobleng paningin sa isang mata.

Paano ito ginagamot?
Ang tanging epektibong paraan upang maalis ang katarata ay sa pamamagitan ng operasyon. Sa pamamaraang ito, ang malabong natural lens ng mata ay pinapalitan ng isang malinaw na artificial lens (IOL) upang maibalik ang linaw ng iyong paningin. May mga taong may katarata na kaya pang gawan o sukatan ng salamin, ngunit maraming may katarata na hinog na ang hindi na kayang masukatan kahit sa anong paraan.

Mahalagang Babala:
Pinapayuhan ang lahat na mag-ingat sa mga biglaang "pop-up" medical missions na nag-aalok ng mabilisang operasyon sa katarata. Ang operasyon sa mata ay sensitibo at nangangailangan ng:
1. Isang sterile o malinis na pasilidad upang maiwasan ang malalang impeksyon.
2. Sapat na pre-operative testing bago ang operasyon.
3. Post-operative follow-up care upang masiguradong maayos ang paggaling ng mata. Ang mga pansamantalang setup ay madalas na walang kakayahang magbigay ng mga ito, na maaaring magdulot ng panganib sa iyong paningin.

Modernong Solusyon: Specialized Lenses 🔮
Alam niyo ba na mayroon na tayong mga specialized premium lenses? Ang mga advanced na lens na ito ay hindi lamang nagtatanggal ng katarata; kaya rin nitong itama ang lahat ng uri ng malabong paningin tulad ng nearsightedness, farsightedness, at astigmatism nang sabay-sabay. Dahil dito, malaki ang posibilidad na hindi mo na kakailanganin ng salamin pagkatapos ng iyong operasyon! ✨

Huwag hayaang magdilim ang iyong mundo. Kumunsulta sa isang kwalipikadong ophthalmologist sa isang maayos na klinika o ospital para sa tamang pagsusuri.

The school break is almost over... did screen time take over? 🛑

We get it—gadgets were probably a lifesaver over the holidays! But all that extra "on-screen" time over the break might mean your child's eyes are feeling the strain right now (think headaches, dryness, or blurriness). 😵‍💫

As they head back to the classroom, now is the time to establish healthy habits to protect their vision going forward:

✅ The 20-20-20 Rule (A total game changer for homework sessions!)
✅ Prioritize Outdoor Play (Keep balancing that digital time with green time)
✅ Device-Free Family Zones (Reconnect without the screens)

Did you notice them squinting or rubbing their eyes more during the break? Don't send them back to school with blurry vision. Now is the perfect time to schedule an eye exam to ensure they are ready to learn! 👁️✨

A Commitment to Your Skin Health & Eye Health

In the last year of Dr. Marcia Marie Solas Marte's dermatologic residency, after 3 long years of training to finally become Marinduque's first and only board accredited dermatologist (a skin care specialist, both pathologic and aesthetic), she has long established the dream of returning home to her province to provide the care all Marinduqueños deserve when it comes to their skin. She always shared that dream to her soon-to-be husband, Dr. Marlo Jimenez, an ophthalmologist consultant already at that time, who was all the way hesitant on whether they could as a couple back that dream up, financially and professionally. To work in an undeserved area is the pantheon for some doctors, especially Dra. Marcia.

Fast forward five years into the future. The dream is finally realized. The commitment to provide quality, board-certified skin care and eye care is finally in Marinduque. These more than adequately trained individuals have come back from their reputable training institutions to provide the professional expertise the island has longed for. The word Île is french for island, the doctor husband and wife team has decided to stick with skin health on the name to honor the dream that once was. The Île Skin MD has come home. The clinic is now open.
