Every Holy Week, Filipino families flock to the beach and the pool. It is a season of faith, of rest, of togetherness and tragically, of loss.

As we reflect on sacrifice and new life, we are reminded that some families spend this sacred week not in celebration, but in grief.

Last Holy Week 2025, 15 lives were lost to drowning in just 7 days. Nine of them were children. These were preventable deaths.

In the Philippines, 10 people drown every single day, making us the only country in the Western Pacific where drowning deaths are RISING.

And as we near the summer months, the risk only grows.

This page exists to change that. We share science-based, AAP-guided tips so every Filipino family can enjoy the water and come home safe.
