The Philippine Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) joins the nation in the celebration of the “Bone and Joint (Musculo-Skeletal) Disorders Awareness Week”.

Every third week of October we mark the National “Bone and Joint Awareness Week”. This is by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 658 signed by former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on July 5, 2004. The proclamation assists in raising the awareness and knowledge of the community about disorders related to our bones and joints.

THERE ARE NUMEROUS TYPES OF PHYSICAL THERAPY.

Like any other form of healthcare, there are a number of specialties that address different types of injuries and various parts of the body.

Examples include: orthopedic, acute care, post-operative care, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehab, lymphedema management, wound care, and neurologic rehabilitation. In addition to the above are the speech therapists, pediatric physical therapists, and occupational therapists.
