Part of the republic act No. 10028 states that:
To raise awareness on the importance of and to further promote breastfeeding, the month of August in each and every year throughout the Philippines shall be known as “Breastfeeding Awareness Month". This is in order to protect, promote and support breastfeeding in the Philippines as the normal, natural and preferred method of feeding infants and young children.

In line with this, the MRXUH, in partnership with the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of OB-Gyn held a breastfeeding awareness activity last August 8, 2023, in the form of interactive lectures and games with the theme this year "Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents".
The attendees were the post-partum patients and expectant mothers from MRXUH as well as breastfeeding mothers from the community of Nazareth.

Highly esteemed guest speakers of the activity were Dr. Geraliz Dano and Dr. Jessamine Sareno-Ang. Also, a message from a breastfeeding mother who is at the same time a nurse, Ma'am Nina Margarette Garingo, topped off the event by sharing her heart-warming breastfeeding experience.

This event was graced by the presence of Sr. Mary Hazel Tabada, SPC; Assistant nursing service director Ma'am Teofanes Guinita, Sir Kirby Retuya from the Department of Health, Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics Dr. Felix Bernard Cepeda, Chairman of the Department of OB-Gyn Dr. Rico Borromeo; Pediatric consultants Dr. Alvaro Loquias and Dr. Lourdes Jane Ramonal and MRXUH Pediatrics / Ob-gyn residents and clerks.

Every month of July is the nutrition month celebration. This year theme is Healthy Diet Gawing Affordable for All! It has been a successful event. Special thanks to MRXUH consultants especially our guest speaker dr Oliveros, our judges Dr. Bularon and Dr Dayupay, the presence of Dr. Cepeda, Dr. Go, Dr. Sanchez, my fellow residents Dr. Melodia and Dr. Tan, our PPS president Dr jabay and Maam inday , barangay health workers and Kagawad Murphy and Rodriguez.

In celebration of the Dengue Awareness Month every June, the Maria Reyna Xavier University Hospital – Department of Pediatrics in partnership with the Philippine Pediatric Society - North Central Mindanao (PPS-NCM) Chapter conducted an information drive through an interactive lecture and a fun treasure-hunting activity to foster awareness of and initiate ways and means to control the incidence of Dengue in the local community. This was held last June 30, 2023 at Nazareth Health Center and Covered Court, Cagayan de Oro City and was attended by the Nazareth local and barangay healthcare workers, XUJPRSM Clinical Clerks, MRXUH Community Coordinator Dr. Alvaro Loquias, PPS-NCM President Dr Jabay, MRXUH Pediatrics Training Officer Dr. Josephine Dela Cerna, MRXUH Pediatrics Assistant Training Officer Dr Early Sanchez, and Pediatric consultant Dr Jeanette Dayupay.

The MRXUH Department of Pediatrics had a mini NRP workshop conducted by Dr. Jessamine Sareno-Ang last May 29, 2023.
This was attended by the NICU nurses, pediatric residents and XUJPRSM clinical clerks. Thank you so much doc Jessa for sharing your time and expertise.

Annually, World Health Day is celebrated on April 7 to raise awareness of the overall health and well being of people across the world .

In line with this celebration, The department of Pediatrics -MRXUH in partnership with Nazareth Health Center, had a Zumba and poster making contest activity.
