The MELPPI PRO Evaluation for LGU Camaman-an was successfully conducted on April 29, 2026, at the City Healthโ€“Nutrition Office. The activity was facilitated by a team of four evaluators who assessed the implementation and performance of nutrition programs in the barangay.
The evaluation focused on reviewing key indicators, program accomplishments, and the overall functionality of local nutrition initiatives. Strengths were recognized, and areas for improvement were identified to further enhance service delivery.
The activity was actively supported by the BNS, led by BNAO Elizabeth C. Sacala, ensuring the smooth flow of the evaluation and accurate presentation of data.
Special thanks to Punong Barangay Carl Harrison S. Galarrita and the Barangay Council for their full support and commitment, which contributed to the success of the activity.
Overall, the MELPPI PRO Evaluation served as an essential step in strengthening nutrition governance, reinforcing accountability, and guiding the barangay toward improved health and nutrition outcomes for the community.

This Act covers those who are ๐—ป๐˜‚๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐˜†-๐—ฎ๐˜-๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ธ, especially pregnant and lactating women, particularly teenage mothers, women of reproductive age, adolescent girls, and all Filipino children aged 0-24 months old.

Priority shall be given to those who reside in disaster-prone areas and Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA), such as areas that are isolated due to distance, inaccessibility to transportation, and weather conditions; unserved and underserved communities; and other areas identified to have high incidences of poverty; those persons belonging to vulnerable sectors; and communities in or recovering from situations of crisis or armed conflict and recognized as such by a government body.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) shall prioritize local government units (LGUs) for their programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), which meet any of the following criteria:

a. With the highest prevalence of undernutrition (underweight, stunting, and wasting) and nutrient deficiency among pregnant women, lactating mothers, and 0-24-month-old children.

b. Availability of facilities or capability to implement the program.

c. Prioritizes such program in their locality and willingness to provide counterpart resources for its implementation.

The NNC Region X encourages the LGUs to plan and integrate the First 1000 Days (F1KD) of Life PPAs into their respective Local Nutrition Action Plans (LNAP), Local Development Plan (LDP), and Annual Investment Program (AIP). Further, LGUs must implement such health and nutrition PPAs targeting all pregnant women, lactating mothers, and 0-24-month-old children in the community.

A fire incident occurred on April 27, 2026, in North C. Macajalar, Barangay Camaman-an, affecting several households and families in the community. Based on the rapid assessment conducted, a total of 44 houses were affected, with 36 totally damaged and 8 partially damaged.
The incident impacted 53 families, including 9 sharer families and 2 renter individuals, bringing the total number of affected families and individuals to 56. A total of 243 individuals were recorded as affected.
The age distribution of affected individuals includes 11 (0โ€“2 years old), 10 (3โ€“5 years old), 30 (6โ€“12 years old), 23 (13โ€“17 years old), 147 (18โ€“59 years old), and 22 senior citizens (60 years old and above). This shows that both vulnerable groups and working-age individuals were significantly impacted.
This activity and response were made possible through the leadership of Punong Barangay Carl Harrison โ€œKuya Bodieโ€ D. Galarrita, together with the dedicated support of the Barangay Council, who ensured immediate coordination, assessment, and assistance to the affected families.
The incident highlights the urgent need for continuous support, including relief assistance, temporary shelter, health services, and psychosocial interventions to help families recover and rebuild their lives.

The three-day training focused on key topics such as risk assessment, emergency response, preparedness planning, and community-based strategies to reduce disaster risks. Participants were equipped with practical tools and techniques to effectively respond to emergencies and promote safety within their respective communities.

The Womenโ€™s Month Culminating Activity was successfully conducted, bringing together various sectors in the community including women employees, Persons with Disabilities (PWD) women, and senior women. The activity aimed to promote inclusivity, empowerment, and awareness of womenโ€™s rights.
One of the key parts of the program was the Orientation on Laws Against Women, which provided important information on legal protections, gender equality, and measures to prevent violence against women. This helped participants become more informed and confident in asserting their rights.
The celebration was made more vibrant through the Retro Dance Contest, where participants showcased their talent, creativity, and teamwork. The activity encouraged unity, self-expression, and active participation among women from different sectors.
This successful event was made possible through the strong support and leadership of our Punong Barangay, Hon. Carl Harrison D. Galarrita, together with the Barangay Council, whose commitment to womenโ€™s welfare and empowerment greatly contributed to the success of the activity.
