An act of kindness showcase emotional intelligence, maturity and empathy, reflecting a deep understanding of human vulnerabilities. In my experiences in the field of addiction or even the in the field of counseling or life coaching, recognizing and responding to others' pain with compassion is a strength, demonstrating the ability to connect on a profound level and foster positive emotional well-being.

Victor Frankl, renowned existential psychologist, expressed, "Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." This aligns with the idea that acts of kindness stem from a thoughtful response rather than weakness.

Additionally, Carl Rogers, a prominent humanistic psychologist, emphasized the importance of empathy, stating, "When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without taking responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good." This underscores the strength in understanding and connecting with others through acts of kindness.

“WE ARE WINNING THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS”

BACUAG, SDN BALAY SILANGAN REFORMATION CENTER CONDUCTED FIRST COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES

Seven (7) drug reformists graduated last February 2, 2023 from Bacuag Reformation Initiating Development and Growth Enhancement (B.R.I.D.G.E.), a Balay Silangan Reformation Center (BSRC) located at Brgy. Poblacion, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte which was established in accordance with Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 3, series of 2022. Six (6) drug reformists are residents of Bacuag while the other one is a resident of Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte.

Said momentous occasion was graced by the Provincial Governor of Surigao del Norte, Hon. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers as Guest of Honor who is in full support on the implementation of the program from the very beginning. The sincere aspiration of Gov. Lyndon and the genuine desire of Mayor Felicisimo “Daddy Moke” C. Cebedo, Vice Mayor Shiela Orquina Cebedo, and MLGOO VI Welivie C. Diola is very much instrumental in the establishment of B.R.I.D.G.E. BSRC that made it an insurmountable success not only to Bacuaganons but also to the people of Surigao del Norte as a whole together with the strong coordination of the PDEA officials, national and local Department Heads in Bacuag, BADAC members led by its respective Punong Barangays, and the Balay Silangan Service Providers.

The commencement exercises paid off all the hard works of the provincial and local government units with the DILG through MLGOO VI Welivie C. Diola and the PDEA RO XIII represented by Surigao del Norte Provincial Officer IA V Randy T. Pulmano, and all its stakeholders who had hatched the reformation program months before its inauguration and formal launching.

B.R.I.D.G.E. BSRC was inaugurated and was formally launched November last year with the support of Gov. Lyndon Barbers as its Guest of Honor and as major financial contributor and partner of LGU-Bacuag headed by Mayor “Moke” and Vice-Mayor Shiela Cebedo. The formal launching of B.R.I.D.G.E. BSRC was also attended by its stakeholders who witnessed the event.

It was also during said inauguration and formal launching of B.R.I.D.G.E. BSRC that the municipality of Bacuag, Surigao del Norte was awarded a Plaque of Commendation by PDEA Regional Office XIII thru its Surigao del Norte Provincial Office headed by IA V Randy T. Pulmano for having satisfactorily formulated a Drug-Free Workplace Program and for being the first LGU in Caraga region having conferred with said award for its exemplary governance in establishing and institutionalizing the Drug-Free Workplace Policy (DFWP).

Dir III Charlene R Magdurulang, MPA, lauded the exceptional endeavor and inimitable cooperation between the provincial government of Surigao del Norte and the municipality of Bacuag and ,further, encourages other LGUs to continue to be persistent and resilient in our campaign against illegal drugs especially in providing intervention and reformation programs to recovering drug victims in line with the marching order of PBBM and the PDEA Director General.
