Wellness Break | March 26, 2026

JR Borja General Hospital, together with our TB DOTS Program, continues to strengthen our commitment to raising awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) and promoting early detection, proper treatment, and community support.

TB is preventable and curable. Through education, screening, and accessible treatment, we can protect our families and communities from this disease.

🦠 Rabies Awareness Month 🐶🐱

Rabies is a deadly but 100% preventable disease. It is commonly transmitted through the bite or scratch of an infected animal, especially dogs. Once symptoms appear, rabies can lead to serious complications and even death if not treated immediately.

⚠️ Watch out for possible signs of rabies exposure:
• Pain, numbness, or tingling at the bite/scratch site
• Headache, weakness, nausea, or vomiting
• Difficulty swallowing or breathing
• Fear of water (hydrophobia)
• Confusion, seizures, and severe illness in later stages

✅ What should you do if bitten or scratched by an animal?

1. Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes.

2. Apply antiseptic if available.

3. Seek medical care right away and get anti-rabies vaccination.

🐕 Responsible pet ownership saves lives. Make sure your dogs and cats are vaccinated against rabies and avoid contact with stray animals.
