The department congratulates our senior resident Dr Leah Galindez-Orjalesa for her poster presentation at the 47th Annual PSMID Convention held in SMX Convention Center, Pasay City!

She presented her case report entitled, “Hiding in Plain Sight: A Case of An Infected Cyst Presenting Solely with Fever and Chills” in collaboration with our dear consultants, Dr Carmelita Llavore, Dr Erwin Dayupay, and Dr Myvie Galon.

Sprouting a Greener Future!

Last November 8, 2025, the MRXUH Department of Internal Medicine joined the Tree Planting activity hosted by the PCP-NM at Malasag, Cugman, CDO with the theme “Strengthening Collaborative Actions for a Livable Environment.” The activity was a hit, adding more green lungs to our community and combating climate change one sapling at a time! 🌳💚

We've still got a long way to go, but every tree planted is a step towards a healthier planet.

A Heart for Service

The Maria Reyna Xavier University Hospital Departments of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Surgery came together at Camaman-an Elementary School last August 16, 2025 with one mission in mind: to serve the community.

Through teamwork, compassion, and dedication, we were able to extend quality healthcare to those who need it most. This successful medical mission is proof that when we work hand in hand, we can make a lasting difference.

Grateful to every department, volunteer, and partner who made this possible. Here’s to more initiatives that bring hope and healing to our communities!

Heart of Champions!

The Maria Reyna - Xavier University Hospital Department of Internal Medicine brought home the gold at the first-ever Cardiolympics during the G.O.L.D. Enhancing Synergy in Cardiovascular Care Conference held at Limketkai Luxe Hotel last July 26, 2025 hosted by the Philippine Heart Association Northwestern Mindanao Chapter.

Hearty congratulations to Dr Leah Galindez-Orjalesa and Dr Wendysyl Mabale for this amazing feat and for representing the department.

Making Waves Globally!

The department wholeheartedly congratulates our senior resident, Dr Diana Mae Naldoza, for presenting her case report entitled “Double Jeopardy: An 81-year-old Diabetic Woman with Emphysematous Pyelonephritis” at the 2025 Korean Society of Nephrology convention held at Seoul, South Korea last June 19-22, 2025. She was accompanied by her co-author, our very own Dr Karen Dacudao (Nephrologist).
