All hands on deck! With almost 29 partner agencies gathered at the Limketkai Atrium, CDO to bring a full One-Stop Shop of services for our OFWs and their families β€” all in one accessible hub.

🚨 HIV Infections Are on the Rise Up by 500%! 😱

Department of Health (DOH) has announced a sharp increase in HIV cases, with around 57 new cases detected every day in the Philippines. As our country faces this growing challenge, it’s important for every Filipino to be informed about HIV and AIDS how it’s transmitted, how to prevent it, and where to get tested by spreading accurate education and information, we can stop the spread and save lives. ❀️

The most affected are young key populations, ages 15 and above.
This alarming increase calls for urgent action through awareness, education, and empowerment. πŸ’”

That’s why Peer Education is essential. By empowering communities with correct information, we can break the stigma, prevent new infections, and encourage more people to get tested.

The Reproductive Health and Wellness Center – City Health Office, in partnership with the Sustained Health Initiatives of the Philippines, Inc. In partnership with the Reproductive Health and Wellness Center – City Health Office CDO, the Sustained Health Initiatives of the Philippines - SHIP brought free, fast, and confidential HIV counseling and screening to the employees of Minergy Power Corporation (MPC) in Barangay Mandangoa, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental. πŸŒπŸ’™

CDO Protects Upscale continues to support key populations including the LGBTQIA+ community, young key populations, and cis gender individuals by encouraging them to know their HIV status. We remain committed to ending stigma and discrimination through the promotion of awareness, education, and safe practices among our communities.

Big thanks to Minergy Power Corporation for inviting us to be part of this meaningful activity! πŸ’™ Ms. Raffy Ardemil shared an insightful talk on STIs, HIV & AIDS, while Ms. Karen Maliao and Ms. Mirasol Flores provided counseling sessions.
