𝗖𝗗𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗦 𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗛𝗜𝗩-𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦

Dok Paolo Gaane, Chairman of the Committee on Health, Nutrition, and Health Insurance, presided the meeting last October 22, 2025, where the Proposed Ordinance No. 2025-0003, “Providing for the Cagayan de Oro City Comprehensive STI, HIV, and AIDS Prevention and Control Program”, was approved at the committee level.

First introduced by former Councilor Dra. Malou Seriña Gaane, this measure was carried forward through Dok Paolo’s efforts, with the support of Dr. Rachel D. Dilla, Dr. Ronald A. Romano, and the City AIDS Council chaired by Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy.

This brings us closer to a Cagayan de Oro that leads with empathy, safeguards every life, and breaks the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS.

Not everyone communicates or behaves the same way. Some face challenges due to neurodevelopmental conditions, making everyday interactions in public spaces harder for both them and those around them.

Dok Paolo Gaane attended last Wednesday’s Committee on Social Services meeting, where Ordinance No. 2025-0051, proposed by Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, was discussed. The measure seeks to train frontline workers to assist individuals with patience, empathy, and respect — ensuring public services are accessible and welcoming to all.
