What is MNRI and who can benefit from it?

MNRI posits that reflex integration is important in supporting neurological development, developing coordinated movements, improving gross and fine motor skills, and in supporting learning, attention and emotional regulation. When reflexes are not integrated, a person may unnecessarily struggle with skills that rely on higher-level brain control.

Onwardz' Colorful Halloween 🎈🎃👻

Thank you to all the families who joined us in celebrating our Halloween activity! It was a day filled with so much fun, exciting games, and functional prizes. The kids were so happy to show-off their cute and scary costumes!

This year, we had nine activity booths composed of:

⛳️ Pumpkin Golf
🏀 Color Matching Game
🎣 Fishing Creepy Crawlers
👀 Eye Spy Game

After finishing all the challenges, the kids enjoyed a scoop of ice cream and some dumplings! 🍦🥟

Celebrating World Occupational Therapy Day!

Today we celebrate the incredible work of all occupational therapists who help people live life - promoting participation, well-being, and quality of life every day.

Our occupational therapists, Teacher Kaye and Teacher Alex, attended this seminar last September. The seminar speakers, Hon. Roland Lyle Duque, MSc, OTRP, FPAOT and Ms. Kathryn Villar, OTRP, MAED discussed the important keypoints in assessing and supporting our children's school participation.

Emphasis was given on the concept of the 'school-child fit' wherein the child's success is not solely dependent on their school readiness skills but also on the school's profile and capacity to support the child. Truly, much still needs to be done to improve our education system but a small step towards the right direction can still go a long way. We are looking forward to have an educational system wherein allied professionals like occupational therapists and speech therapists are more visible in the school setting!
