🔎 What are skin tags?
Skin tags are small, soft, harmless growths that often appear on:
❎Neck
❎Armpits
❎Groin
❎Eyelids
🔗 Connection to diabetes
Skin tags are sometimes linked to Type 2 Diabetes and Insulin Resistance.
Here’s why:
High insulin levels (common in insulin resistance) may stimulate skin growth
People with many skin tags are more likely to have blood sugar problems
But this is correlation, not a guaranteed sign.
⚠️ Important reality check
Having skin tags does NOT mean you have diabetes.
Many people get them due to:
❎Friction (skin rubbing)
❎Genetics
❎Weight gain
❎Aging
⚠️When to pay attention
It’s worth checking your blood sugar if you have:
❎Many skin tags (especially suddenly appearing)
❎Plus other symptoms like:
❎Frequent urination
❎Excessive thirst
❎Fatigue
❎Darkened skin patches (Acanthosis Nigricans)
