Look what one whole year of showing up did!
One year ago, I was just learning how to sit on my saddle, balance, and push my old bike. I didnβt know this sport would teach me so many things.
I learned how to train, how to race, and even how to lose. There were days when my Tatay & Mama only slept for two hours but still woke up early to prepare everything for my race. Sometimes I didnβt make it to the finals. We would pack up, go home, and then show up again the next day to train with Team Melanio.
But those days made me love this sport even more. π
Because of pushbike, I found new friends. I love racing with them; and I super love the playtime after the races! Playing with kids from other teams is something I always look forward to. And of course, playtime with my teammates is the best part of training!
I just hope and pray that our community will always remember what and who matters most. π
Winning on the podium shows all the hard work in training and even the bike upgrades. But more than that, we are still just kids who love to play and compete.
Please donβt judge us right away if we make mistakes or accidentally bump into someone or hit a cone. Weβre still learning, growing, and doing our best.
Please extend grace and patience to us. At the end of the day, love and understanding will always matter more than trophies, medals, or team points.
Because long after the race is over, itβs character, not podiums, that lasts. π«Ά
