Green Leaf Agri is proud to introduce its new variety of mango that are sweeter than the local “carabao” variety. They are sweet and good to eat even when they are still green.
📌 This variety starts to bloom from 6-12 months of transplanting.
📌 It blooms from February to September (almost continuously).
📌 The fruits, which are about 300-400 grams each (about 3 fruits per kilo), are harvested twice a year.
📌 Fruits have thicker skin, which makes them resistant to damage caused by fruit flies.
📌 NO spray chemicals to induce blooming and to repel insects, GLA is proud to declare its mangoes as ORGANIC.
📌 Seedlings are double-stocked and they have a lifespan as those of the carabao mango seedlings’.
📌📌📌 Facts and Figures:
1. The first two years, each seedling bears fruits minimally (5-30 at about 300 grams each).
2. On the third year, they bear an average of 60 fruits.
3. On the 4th and subsequent years, each tree bears at least 100 and up to 200 fruits.
4. For each tree bearing 30 fruits at 300+ grams each (or 3 fruits per kilo), the yield is 10 kilos. At P50 per kilo, each tree yields P500. This is a very conservative estimate.
5. Multiply P500 by the number of trees planted. If the farm owner has 100, that’s P50,000 in sales on just the third year.
6. On the 4th year, it is 100 fruits x P50 = P5,000 x 100 = P500,000
7. Clearly, the more trees the farmer owns, the more money is expected. More so if the farmer sold the fruits locally instead of going for the farm market price of P50 per kilo.
8. The initial capital for 100 seedlings is P350,000 plus P50,000 for maintenance and fertilizers. Bulk rate (100 seedlings or more) is P2,700.
