Facts about Booster Anti Rabies Vaccine. ๐Ÿ’‰โค๏ธ

1. There is no need to go back to zero as long as there is history and proof that at least 3 doses of antirabies vaccine have been completed in the past. Yes, even 5 to 10 years ago, according to new studies and testing. The antirabies vaccine once injected into our blood "does not expire." The "antibody level" only decreases but does not ze-zero.

2. RIG (ERIG or HRIG) vaccine is also no longer needed when it's just a booster dose even if the current wound is deep, bleeding, it's still in the head or neck - ERIG is no longer needed. A booster dose of anti rabies is enough.

According to the DOH Guideline - "Patients who have previously received completed primary immunization with rabies vaccine have the advantage that booster dose will rapidly induce a large increase in antibody production (" a secondary response ").
Therefore, there is no need to give RIG.

3. Ang mga bata ay may malikot na pag iisip - maaring hindi magsabi ng totoo o itago ang dahilan ng mga sugat.

4. Dahil sa maliit na pangangatawan, madalas ay leeg o ulo agad ang abot kapag nakakagat o kalmot ng hayop.

5. Mabilis mag hilom ang mga sugat ng bata. Kapag nakagat/kalmot, ay hindi namamalayan na mayroon na pala naging sugat.

โœ… Yes! Naka sama na po ang ๐Ÿ’‰ Anti rabies vaccine sa Philippines Pediatric Guideline for vaccination! As early as 2 years old - maari na sila bakunahan ng anti rabies vaccine kahit walang alagang hayop, kahit walang sugat.

โœ… Yes! Ligtas po magpabakuna ng ๐Ÿ’‰ Anti rabies vaccine kahit hindi pa nakakagat o kalmot. Wala itong epekto sa physical, mental at emotional development ng bata.

โœ… Yes! Ang pagbabakuna sa kanila ay magbibigay ng agarang proteksyon sa mga bata sa oras na makagat/kalmot. Less panic, less gastos!

In just 3 days after the exposure of the patient through multiple abrasion in the forearm and hand secondary to cat scratch, bumalik ang pasyente na may lagnat, panghihina ng katawan at pamamaga ng kamay.

Take note: Alaga at pusang nasa loob lang ng bahay at may anti rabies na din. Buhay ang pusa sa kasalukuyan pero posible po talaga mangyari ito.

Ang tawag dito ay ๐‚๐š๐ญ ๐ฌ๐œ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ž. Ito ay dahil ang pusa, alaga man o gala ay may likas na "special" bacteria sa kanilang mga kuko na kung tawagin ay "๐๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š ๐ก๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ž" naipapasa sa tao sa pamamagitan ng kalmot at nagdudulot ng infection katulad ng nasa litrato. Ito ay hindi pinapabayaan dahil maaring lumala at kumalat ang infection sa dugo at magdulot ng komplikasyon.

Bukod sa panganib ng bacteria at rabies, ang ganitong uri ng sugat ay high risk din for tetanus infection.
