August 29, 2025 | Support for Fire Victims in Brgy. Magosilom

Provision of relief goods to families affected by the fire incident in Barangay Magosilom on August 23, 2025.

Each family received the following items:

• 5 Family Food Packs
• 1 DSWD Hygiene Kit
• 1 DSWD Family Kit
• 1 DSWD Sleeping Kit
• 1 DSWD Kitchen Kit
• 1 Emergency Balde from LGU Cantilan
• 1 Hygiene Kit from OCD - NDRRMC
• 1 Food Pack from PDRRMO
• 1 Hygiene Kit from PDRRMO
• 1 Family Kit from PDRRMO
• 1 Water Jug/Container from PDRRMO

The relief distribution was led by Municipal Mayor Rodrigo L. Eleazar. Also present was ABC President and Punong Barangay Jimbo A. Luarez.

The same relief items from PDRRMO were also provided to fire victims in Barangay Parang.

This support was made possible through the combined efforts of DSWD Field Office Caraga, the Provincial Government of Surigao Del Sur and LGU Cantilan.

In unity and compassion, we stand with the affected families. May this support bring hope and strength among all affected families.

Brgy. Parang Hall | Support for Fire Victims

The Local Government Unit of Cantilan, through the MSWD and MDRRM, provided Family Food Packs and Non-Food Items to the five (5) families whose houses were damaged in the fire incident on August 17, 2025 in Brgy. Parang.

This support was made possible through the DSWD, the Office of the Civil Defense, and LGU Cantilan, led by Mayor Rodrigo L. Eleazar.

Each family received:

- 5 Family Food Packs
- 1 DSWD Hygiene Kit
- 1 DSWD Family Kit
- 1 DSWD Sleeping Kit
- 1 DSWD Kitchen Kit
- 1 Emergency Balde from LGU Cantilan
- 1 Hygiene Kit from OCD - NDRRMC

The other fire victims in Brgy. Magosilom, affected by a separate incident on August 23, 2025, will also be provided with the same assistance.

Kini nga pagbalhin usa ka importante nga lakang sa padayon nga komitment sa DSWD Field Office Caraga aron mas mapalapdan ug mapauswag ang serbisyo alang sa mga Caraganon. Ang bag-ong lokasyon naghatag ug mas sayon nga pag-access ug mas maayong pasilidad aron mas dali mahatod ang serbisyo sa katawhan nga nagkinahanglan.

ECCD Induction Program for Local ECCD Service Providers

The Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council conducts Induction Program for Local ECCD Service Providers at the Villa Maria Luisa Hotel in Tandag City.

This three-day Program is aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of Local Government Representatives involved in ECCD services.

The following representatives from the Local Government Unit of Cantilan are present in the said program:

This program is a significant step towards improving early childhood care and development services in the Municipality, ensuring that local providers are well-equipped to support the needs of young children and their families.

July 31, 2025 – Celebrating Cantilan Disability Rights Day 2025

Today marks a significant day as we honor Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)—a time to reflect, advocate, and stand in solidarity with them.

This day is more than a celebration. It serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle for equality, accessibility, and inclusion for all individuals. We recognize the strength, talent, and dignity of PWDs while acknowledging the persistent barriers they face.

The Association of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), hosted this momentous PWD Day that aligns with the 47th National Disability Rights Week. This year’s theme, "Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together," resonated throughout the activity held at the Magosilom Covered Court in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.

We were honored to have the participation of Municipal Mayor Hon. Philip A. Pichay, SB Members Hon. Florena A. Uriarte, Hon. Liberty G. Cale, Hon. Jimbo A. Luarez, OIC-MSWDO Kenneth B. Yparraguirre, PDAO Jupiter B. Buenavides, President of the Federation of PWD Association Elsie Prado, and other esteemed PWD Officers.

A special thank you goes to the Board of Judges for the "Kakayahan Mo, Ipakita Mo 2025," including Dr. Elica Q. Uriarte, Mr. Atenogenes Yparraguirre Jr., and Mr. Ruben Guillarte. We also thank our resource person, Ms. Xyra Cris P. Clansa, RSW, for her informative discussion on the Rights and Privileges of PWDs.

Our heartfelt gratitude extends to the DepEd SPED Teachers who allowed their PWD students to attend this important event, ensuring that their voices and talents were represented.
