The activity focused on important health topics including Rabies Awareness, Dengue Awareness, Adolescent Development Program, and Mental Health Awareness. These discussions aim to equip students with essential knowledge to help them make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

HERT in Action during EVRAA 2026! 🚑

The Catbalogan City Health Department’s Health Emergency Response Team (HERT), in partnership with the Catbalogan City Division Health Unit and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), actively provided medical services during EVRAA 2026 in Baybay City.

The HERT Team responded to athletes requiring medical attention and provided appropriate treatment as prescribed by the medical team led by Dr. Anna Sophia R. Lim, DPPS, MMHoA, City Health Officer. The team also rendered 24/7 medical duty at the billeting area, ensuring that students received immediate medical assistance whenever needed.

HERT carefully monitored and assessed the health status of the athletes throughout their stay in Baybay City, ensuring they remained in good physical condition during the competition.

We are proud to share that the Barangay 6 Health Station has officially reached Level 1 Accreditation as an Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility (AFHF)! This significant achievement, finalized on February 27, 2026, marks a new chapter in providing specialized healthcare for our youth.

This success is a testament to the visionary leadership of Mayor Dexter Uy and City Health Officer Dr. Ana Sophia Lim. We also salute the hands-on dedication of Midwife Edna Garcia and Punong Barangay Hon Nimfa Rosal whose coordination ensured that our facility meets the highest standards for adolescent care.

A huge "Thank You" to the Sangguniang Barangay officials, the SK Chairperson and Council, and our ever-reliable Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS). Your hard work in the community and your commitment to meeting DOH standards have turned this vision into a reality. We couldn't have done it without you!

National Oral Health Month Celebration

On February 18, 2026, the Catbalogan City Health Department conducted a National Oral Health Month (NOHM) Celebration in Brgy. Cabugawan, Catbalogan City.

As part of the activity, the NOHM Team provided health education focusing on the proper way of toothbrushing, the importance of regular dental care, and the significance of deworming in maintaining overall health. Demonstrations on correct brushing techniques were conducted to ensure that participants, especially children, understood the proper steps in maintaining good oral hygiene.

The activity aimed to promote awareness on oral health practices and encourage the community to adopt healthy habits to prevent dental problems and other related illnesses.

The City Health Department extends its appreciation to the Barangay Officials and community members of Brgy. Cabugawan for their active participation and support in making the activity successful.
