Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) is a priority area in KOICAβs Country Plan for the Philippines. Through strong collaboration with UN agencies and Korean NGOs, including UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO, World Vision, and Global Care, KOICA has worked closely with DOH, CHDs, LGUs, DepEd, DSWD, POPCOM, and other local partners to expand access to essential health services and improve outcomes for women, children, and adolescents.
To assess the progress of its RMNCAH efforts, KOICA conducted an independent evaluation led by external experts from relevant fields. The assessment focused on four key RMNCAH projects: Strengthening Health Care Provider Network with Enhanced Linkage to Community for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (SNIP2), Joint Programme on Accelerating the Reduction of Adolescent Pregnancy in Southern Leyte and Samar (JPARAP), and two public-private partnership initiativesβMaternal, Newborn, and Child Health Project in Eastern Visayas and Adolescent S*x and Reproductive Health Promotion Project in Leyte, with a total funding of approximately USD 22 million. A series of field assessments were conducted from October 27 to November 14 in Aklan, Tacloban, and Samar.
The evaluation results will guide KOICAβs future programming, support strategy refinement, and ensure more sustainable impact for RMNCAH in the Philippines.
