Tuesday is PYP Day 🩷

As part of our Family Planning session, our pregnant teens were able to witness actual counseling and subdermal implant insertion for a 14-year-old postpartum teen mom, who had a CS delivery last January 20.

PS: Our students on immersion were also able to witness the activity

Samar Provincial Hospital is now officially the FIRST hospital in Samar to achieve Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility Level II Certification! 💙🩷✨

Today, we welcomed the assessment team from DOH–EVCHD, together with representatives from the WHO and PHO–Samar. After a thorough evaluation, SPH successfully met all Level II standards, marking a significant step forward in delivering safe, youth-centered, and accessible health services for adolescents.

Thank you to our dedicated AFHF team, partners, and supporters who made this possible. Onward to even better adolescent health services for Samar! 🚀🌟

She’s only 15. Pregnant.

The father — also 15 — walked away, refusing responsibility.

She had to stop school while in Grade 10, while he continues his studies and his life.

His family blocked her on social media. Cut her off completely.

Too many young girls face this alone.💔

Let’s raise awareness, offer compassion, and work together to break the cycle of teenage pregnancy.

Today, Ms. Algin Gultia and Ms. Leisha Beardmore from UNFPA visited the Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility (Teen Center & Young Parents Center) at Samar Provincial Hospital.

They engaged in meaningful discussions about the current state of teenage pregnancy in the province — including updated data, ongoing challenges, and the realities faced by adolescents today.
