However, more often than not, as the years pass by, such words lose its meaning as the stressful years of medical school and residency take its toll in the minds of the idealistic young doctors. The daily drudgery of our lives spent studying for the tons of exams, the USMLE, the sleepless nights on-call taking care of a never-ending list of critical patients , leave us tired, embittered, and disenchanted.
