Meet your OB-GYN.
“Let me share a tweet from Dr. Mahesh Pethakamsetty “By the time a doctor is fully settled, many parents are almost on their 60s and 70s and they would have fulfilled most of their wishes themselves by then. Also they are committed to bear our expenses and fully support us until our 30s or even more. If parents have supported us to become doctors, it is purely for their love of their child and their generosity towards the society.” And I think, I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that this is true in every way.
Most doctors are self-made. I am a product of our barangay at Lucsuhin Elementary School, a Donoherian, IJAn, and a Lasallian (DLSU-D; HSI) earning my Bachelor Degree in Biology major in Human Biology before I graduated in San Beda where I took my Medicine proper. I had my clerkship mainly in Quirino Memorial Medical Center and during this time I started to dream of becoming an OB-GYN. I have learned even more about pregnancy care and reproductive health when I took my Internship Training Program at San Juan De Dios Hospital and passed the Boards the same year. Furthermore, I had my specialty training for 4 years in Batangas Medical Center, added 1 more year as Chief Resident during COVID-19 Pandemic. In Cavite I had my Department of Health Post-Residency Deployment Program (PRDP) where in I served at Ospital ng Imus for a year, during this time I took my certificate course in Hospital Quality Improvement (CCHQI) from the Development Academy of the Philippines. I also had my Master’s degree in Hospital Administration (MMHoA) from the Philippine Christian University, Manila. I became an Academician in Cavite State University College of Medicine as one of its Pioneers, as Associate Professor-IV and eventually became the Section Head of Gross Anatomy and Microbiology. I went back to my hometown in Silang where I started my private practice as consultant in Silang Specialists Medical Center, until I became the Department Chair of OB-GYN in Velazco Hospital, an Administrator in MHAVIS (Infirmary) Hospital and the opportunity to take part of Estrella Hospital as its Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer.
