Bipolar disorder is more than mood changes. It involves real and complex shifts in emotions, energy, and daily functioning. According to the World Health Organization, bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that affects a personโ€™s mood, energy, activity, and thoughts, and is characterized by manic (or hypomanic) and depressive episodes.

Today, we raise awareness to promote understanding, reduce stigma, and encourage support for individuals living with this condition. With awareness comes empathy, and with empathy comes a stronger and more supportive community.

The Cebu City Health Department โ€“ Mental Health Programโ€™s Psychometricians conducted Psychological First Aid (PFA) on March 10, 2026, for the victims of the twin residential fire in Sitio Univille, Barangay Kasambagan. The intervention aimed to provide immediate psychosocial support, comfort, and a safe space for affected individuals and families as they cope with the emotional impact of the incident.
