In an environment where academic demands get too heavy, it is important to be surrounded by people who listens and understands you. At times, we feel hesitant to share our emotional load but do remember that you are not a burden for reaching out for help.

The VCOT interns had their iCARE Psychological First Aid Workshop last November 26, 2022. The workshop trained the interns on ways of how to provide support to their peers.

If you are a fellow Mental Health Advocate, let’s join hands and together be the VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS📣

In continuation of the World Mental Health Day celebration, the Velez College-ICare-Wellbeing Hub is offering a Velezian Peer Facilitators’ Program. It serves as an intervention approach consisting of volunteer Velezian students that are trained and capable of addressing the emotional and psychological concerns of their co-learners. Training on facilitation, counseling, and other interpersonal skills will be provided to the program and peer facilitators will be able to implement Psychological First Aid (PFA) like group dynamics and processing to help those who are in need. The Velezian Peer Facilitators’ Circle Program will provide students opportunities to meet friends, help other people, and be involved in meaningful campus experiences along the process.

It’s high time that we respond to the needs of the Velezians and recognize mental health as essential to physical health. The Velez College Guidance Center in collaboration with ICare Mental Health and Velez College Occupational Therapy Department has created an organization on Mental Health Psychosocial Support for First Responders.
