Just another wednesday afternoon for our humble group: coffee in one hand and a journal in another.

Drinking coffee may be linked to a lower risk of kidney disease, according to a study by Mehmet Kanbay et al. in the Journal of Renal Nutrition (2021).

The review of over 500,000 people found that coffee drinkers had a lower risk of developing chronic kidney disease (14% lower), end-stage kidney disease (18% lower), and albuminuria (19% lower), a sign of kidney damage. Those with existing chronic kidney disease also had a 28% lower risk of death.

Every year, the PSH Adult Nephrology department upholds a cherished tradition: a visit to the Simala Shrine. This year, as we approach the certifying exam, our journey to the shrine was filled with a profound sense of unity, faith, and hope.

The Simala Shrine, a place of solace and reflection, provided the perfect backdrop for our group to come together, offer our prayers, and strengthen our resolve. This pilgrimage is more than just a tradition; it's a symbol of our collective journey, our shared aspirations, and the unwavering support we offer one another.

Goodluck to our takers.
