𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔!

The ebbs and flows of the year revealed only a fraction of one’s lifetime. Despite quiet pullbacks and doubt, it offered pauses just long enough to remind us why we keep going.

Moving forward, leaving parts of ourselves behind, we begin to see how these moments have shaped us.
From what it reveals to us comes trust for ourselves—the kind that allows us to love, accept, and endure as the calendar opens a new journey.

Here’s to new beginnings, and the heart to hold what matters with grace and intention🥂.

The countdown to something new now begins! 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿’𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲 is here—a moment of reflection, anticipation, and celebration. Many of us are probably writing down their achievements and things to let go of from the old year, and some may be simply waiting for the plot twist they’ve been hoping for.

But whatever we may have been doing, one thing is for sure: 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.

So just like Jerico Silvers—a Filipino author and a mental health advocate—said,

Cheers for the moments of anxiety you hurdled and for the times you overcame when you badly wanted to call for help. This year wasn’t easy for you and for all of us, but 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁. To stay alive and believe in that little hope that’s left was already a big achievement—𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 for that. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. CTU-Main DPSS pins 64 Psychology studes

The Department of Psychology and Social Sciences (DPSS) pinned 64 Bachelor of Science in Psychology students of Cebu Technological University-Main Campus in its 4th Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony on December 13, 2025, at the CebuTech Gymnatorium.

With the theme, "Luminary of Purpose: Igniting Hope, Cultivating Change, and Embracing the Call to Illuminate, Integrate, and Inspire," the Psychology Class of 2026 or Batch Eunoia attended the ceremony donning their white uniforms together with their parents and guardians before their deployment for internship.

During the ceremony, DPSS OIC-Chairperson Julius Selle graced the audience with his opening remarks, followed by keynote speaker and DPSS faculty Edu Abao for his talk on Clinical and Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

Abao shared his work experiences and insights on the possibilities of what interns may encounter in the workplace and the realities of the Psychology profession.

“In the workplace, attitude [wins], bisag unsa paka ka maayo, once you establish a profession, everything will come,” Abao remarked.

Moreover, former CTU-Association of Psychology Students (CTU-APS) presidents Mel-Ann Barcenal, Ram Joshia Polo, and Angel Mae Bana delivered their inspirational messages to empower interns and emphasize their passion for service as a calling and commitment.

“As you light your candles and wear your pins, you are not just marking a ceremony—you are embracing a calling. The flame you hold symbolizes more than knowledge; it represents hope, resilience, and unwavering commitment to serve humanity,” Barcenal shared.

Following the speeches, the awaited pinning and solemn candle-lighting ceremony commenced, followed by the pledge of commitment to service by current CTU-APS President Mary Franzine Torralba.

To formally close the event, CTU-APS adviser Maria Ellen Alcomendras delivered her closing message for the successful conduct of the ceremony.
