The Department of Internal Medicine would like to extend its gratitude to Dr. Eratosthenes Polito for his timely and relevant lecture on “Writing the Scientific Manuscript (Introduction and Review of Related Literature)” which was held at De Tilly Hall.

This lecture was organized in line with the department’s goal to promote continuing education in research and has helped the residents gain insight into the proper way of writing a research manuscript.

The Department would like to express its sincere gratitude to one of our most dedicated attending physicians, Dr. Noel Belonguel, for taking the initiative to give our hardworking residents a much-needed rest from the stresses within the confines of the hospital.

His thoughtful gesture served as a meaningful reminder that while medicine demands dedication and perseverance, it is equally important to allow ourselves moments of rest and renewal.

The Department would like to extend its warmest congratulations to our Level 2 Medical Resident, Dr. Louie Lyn Torrenueva, on the successful delivery of her Grand Rounds entitled “A Tale of Two Filipinas: The Choreography of Hyperglycemia.”

Her presentation brought to light a rare but important complication of diabetes mellitus—diabetic striatopathy—and was both intellectually engaging and clinically enriching. It was truly a worthwhile Grand Rounds that reflected her dedication, depth of knowledge, and commitment to continuing medical education.
